At Happy Hour yesterday we revealed our new outdoor space to members!

We believe it’s important to have a work-life balance to improve your quality of life.

Now members at SHARED Brooklyn can go outside to get some sun and enjoy a beautiful waterfront view anytime they want in our new outdoor lounge. Eat lunch, meditate, nap, stretch, or just sit and stare at the sky. Chill out in the lounge chairs, and as we move into fall we’ll light up the fire pit!

Yesterday was the first of many regular happy hours and cookouts.  STAY TUNED.

Membership has its benefits!

SHARED Brooklyn to Host Think Olio Classes!

SHARED Brooklyn and Think Olio announce a new collaboration that will bring top professors to the Red Hook community for crafted conversations about art, literature, history, religion and more.

Think Olio and SHARED Brooklyn will kick off the partnership with “Danke Schoen: A Spiritual Analysis of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” taught by Owa Brandstein, a New York City educator with over 15 years teaching experience, on Wednesday, April 20 at 7:30pm at SHARED Brooklyn, 185 Van Dyke Street, Suite 205, Brooklyn, NY 11231.

Continuing through this summer, the intellectually curious can look forward to new and out of the ordinary topics each month at SHARED Brooklyn.

About Think Olio: Think Olio is a nomadic learning series founded by CUNY students Chris Zumtobel and David Kurfirst that invites passionate scholars to teach classes on topics they don’t normally get to discuss. What began in a living room one year ago, has expanded into a growing community of lifelong learners and teachers, taking root in Crown Heights and quickly expanding across Brooklyn. They have held over 80 classes to date. This April, Olio is excited to connect with their first Red Hook location, SHARED Brooklyn.

At a time when universities pay less but cost more, professors are eager for alternative outlets that give them the freedom to teach what they want, when they want. In response, Olio nights provide New Yorkers access to high level classes at affordable prices. Professor Charles Riley says, “As charming and pleasant as the Olio evenings are, there is important intellectual, cultural, educational and even political work going on…”

Click the Brokelyn logo to read the full article. There’s a link within the article to a list of awesome coworking spaces in Brooklyn, and Yours Truly is listed!
